By accessing or using Codex Lumina's Global Avatar Registry and Licensing Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use our services.

2. Avatar Licensing

When you license an avatar through our platform, you agree to:

Use the avatar only within the authorized scope (industry, region, platforms)
Respect the time-bound nature of your license
Not sublicense or transfer your license to third parties
Maintain payment for the duration of your license period
Cease all usage immediately upon license expiration or revocation

3. Public Figure Protection Registry

For public figures registering for protection:

You must provide accurate and truthful identity verification
Registration does not constitute availability for commercial licensing
Your information remains private and is not publicly listed
Payment is required upfront when submitting your application
If your application is declined, you will receive an automatic full refund within 5-7 business days
If approved, your payment covers the first year of protection services
Annual subscription maintains ongoing protection and verification services

4. Payment Terms

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Payment terms vary by service type:

Avatar Licenses: Payment required upfront for license activation
Protection Registry: Payment required upfront; full refund if declined
Declined protection applications receive automatic refunds within 5-7 business days
Recurring subscriptions can be cancelled at any time from your dashboard
Other refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed

5. Intellectual Property

All avatars, certificates, and platform content remain the property of their respective owners. Licenses grant usage rights only, not ownership. Unauthorized use may result in license revocation and legal action.

6. Liability Limitations

Codex Lumina provides the platform "as is" and makes no warranties regarding avatar availability, continuous service, or fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from platform use.

7. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or misuse licensed avatars.

Account Information: Name, email address, company details
License Data: Industry, region, platforms, dates, usage scope
Payment Information: Processed securely by Stripe (we do not store card details)
Public Figure Data: Verification documents, contact details, protection preferences

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to:

Process avatar license requests and maintain the registry
Verify public figure identities and manage protection requests
Generate certificates and provide verification services
Process payments and manage subscriptions
Communicate about licenses, renewals, and platform updates
Detect and prevent unauthorized usage or fraud

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only:

With your explicit consent
To process payments via Stripe
To verify authorization (limited to license status only)
When required by law or legal process
To protect our rights and prevent fraud

4. Public Figure Privacy

Public figure registrations are strictly confidential. Only authorized verification queries return basic yes/no authorization status. Personal details, documents, and contact information are never publicly disclosed.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption, secure servers, and access controls. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. License records and certificates are maintained indefinitely for verification and audit purposes.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Request corrections to inaccurate information
Delete your account (subject to ongoing license obligations)
Opt out of marketing communications
Export your data in a portable format

8. Cookies and Tracking
